Mahan has to finish T11th in the PGA to get a spot in the Presidents Cup. Presently he is in a tie for 44th and not looking likely.
That means he will miss automatic selection and can only get in as a captains choice.
I dont think there’s any doubt that Nicklaus will give Mahan an opportunity [...]

Woodys putting perfect swing after perfect swing together with his irons.
The last 3 holes he has flushed every approach. Great rhthym, sweet as a pea. He’s right in the zone and playing in a dream.
With a hole to play he’s 2 under for the day after rounds of 68 and 70, and 4 under for [...]

Scott Verplank keeps missing in the right places.
He has just put a couple of average swings on the ball, that have ended up short of the hole in easy up and down range. He’s playing real percentage golf which has got him into second spot.

Darren Clark is +4 after 3 rounds of the PGA. He shot 71 today taking bogey at the last.
He is within striking range and can still win from there although it would take an incredible final round. But Darren can shoot it low.
The great thing is he’s back in the mix. Competing for titles.
It doesn’t [...]

John Daly is showing some deft touch around the green today.
I’ve just watched two incredible chips from the big man. Man alive he has some touch. He really does add an exciting element to the tournament. Anytime he walks onto a course the fans go nuts. He must be one of the best loved golfers.
I [...]

Aussie Nathan Green is 3 under for 12 and has moved up into a tie for 8th spot at even par, 6 off Woods.
Thats within range to win. Other Aussies to watch today are Geoff Ogilvy, John Senden, Adam Scott, and Stuart Appleby.
Stuart is even thru 5 at +1 on the leaderboard, so he’s right [...]

Yep. Whose going to give us some pepper and spice today in the PGA.
John Daly could. If he gets a sniff of the lead he can be dangerously good. He hung tough yesterday to remain in the hunt so he could add some vigour today.
Arron Oberholser could surprise.
Ernie Els might. Geoff Ogilvy likes this tournament.
I [...]
